Castle

I admit, I'm a fan of Nathan Fillion. Of course I've never met him in real life, and I probably never will, but whenever I see him, is it in Castle, or Firefly, or in a random interview, there is always somewhat of a warm personality that flows through it. I doubt that is something you can fake. So until proven otherwise, in my head Nathan Fillion is a nice, bit of a man-child man.

**CAUTION** SPOILER ALERT This entry contains spoilers of Castle 8x05

I picked today's episode to write about because I can relate to the eyewitness. Luckily for me my smell isn't as advanced as hers. But advanced enough to smell a fire 3 km away or to smell the exact spot of cat/dog pee on a dark carpet. And believe me when I say, for me it is already a curse. No one can enter my house if they are wearing perfume. People who know me, avoid wearing perfume around me. Even when they put it on in the morning and I only see them 7 hours later. I get migraines.
I can imagine that for a lot of people today's episode was bullshit. That it'll be hard to understand that you really can pick someone out of a line up just by smelling them. But it can be done.

Castle 8x05 - sniffing the lineup

Now that you know that this really can be, you might be wondering what was up with that nosering. In the beginning I was wondering as well why that was, and if I recall right, they never really explained the use of the nosering, they just zoomed in on it a few times, making her look even more weird. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the reason is simple. Whenever I go somewhere, I always carry a scarf with me, if it smells, I can simply put it on, put a layer over my nose and breath through that. Like that, the smells get pushed back and the smell of my scarf is what I'll smell most. That is exactly what that nosering is. By putting that nosering in, she always will smell the metal of the ring first. What makes that even though she can still smell very well, the metal numbs it a bit.
There is a particular scene, when she takes of her nosering in order to smell the people in the lineup when you see her getting overwhelmed  by all the horrible smells in the room. A cacophony of smells.

Ok enough about smells and noserings, lets move on.
A few weeks ago I read an interview with one of the producers from Castle that said that breaking up Beckett and Castle was the best option for keeping the storyline fresh.
I would agree to that if we would see what Beckett is actually doing now that she left Castle, because she didn't leave him because she didn't love him anymore, she left him because she is on a mission and doesn't want to endanger him. So I was looking forward to see more solo Beckett action this season, but instead Beckett was put more to the background while Castle gets more solo action alongside Esposito and Ryan.

I don't know about you but either show more Beckett solo or just bring them back together already. This is torture for Castle and it's not fair.

What do you think Castlefans? Leave a message after the beep... Tuuuuuuuuuuuut
