The Big Bang Theory

Yesterday I launched a poll on several social media to ask you what I should write about today. The series I gave were Blindspot, Castle, Gotham, Minority Report, Scorpion or The Big Bang theory.
The Big Bang Theory came out as winner.
I was happy with the choice, because of all the series in the list, TBBT is one of my most favorite series.

**CAUTION** SPOILER ALERT This entry contains spoilers of The Big Bang Theory 9x04

Normally we always watch TBBT during dinner, but because I wanted to watch it so I could write about it, I convinced my fiance to watch it while he was preparing for his stream.
I was very excited in the beginning when Leonard (played by Johnny Galecki) and Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco) finally manned up to Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons) and told him now that they are married they'll move in together in Penny's apartment. Well,... Penny manned up >< Leonard just hid behind Penny, like always.

The Big Bang Theory 9x04 - explaining Sheldon Leonard is moving out.
But even though the episode had a good start, it wasn't one of their better episodes. Most episodes you just can't take a breath because you're laughing so hard. But today's episode was meh.

Leonard felt guilty of leaving Sheldon, and you saw it coming that he would come back on his word from miles away. And of course Sheldon tried to get Amy (Played by Mayim Bialik) to move in with him. Now this is interesting though if you look at their entire story line that is. Amy tried for ages to get Sheldon that far that she could move in with him. But he never wanted to. Now that she finally broke up with him, he does all the same to her what she did to him.

My apologies if my text is not so great today. I am very dissapointed in this episode. I had expected more of it.

At the end of it all, nothing changed. In my opinion it would even have been better if Penny and Leonard would have moved into the apartment with Sheldon and gave up Penny's apartment. Sheldon clearly can't stay alone. They changed him so much over the years that it would be wrong to just dump him like that. He might be one of the smartest minds on the planet, but he's clearly autistic. And he should be cared for as such. Moving in completely would make the statement that they are for real in living together, but give enough about Sheldon to not dump him.
But now, nothing changed. They just keep going like it is. Paying rent in 2 places. That's totally not realistic whatsoever.

OK, now that I have this off my chest lets move on to Howard (played by Simon Helberg) and Raj (played by Kunal Nayyar). Filk. Lol that made me facepalm. I had never heard about Filk before now so I googled it. And this is what my friend google told me:
Filk is a musical culture, genre, and community tied to science fiction/fantasy fandom. The genre has been active since the early 1950s, and played primarily since the mid-1970s
So it actually exists. It shouldn't surprise me, because except for the recent non realistic "Lets keep 2 expensive apartments" issue, everything brought on in TBBT has actually been real.
So I dove into this a bit more and I dug up some Filk about Gremlins. What explains the genre in my opnion. You can listen to that (or not) below.

 Gremlins - Leslie Fish

And this is why the episode still deserves a 7, because I actually learned something new today.

For the rest. Oh my god, we did get to see Raj's girlfriend Emily (played by Laura Spencer). The other week I actually asked my fiance if I by accident missed somewhere an episode, because we never hear or see Emily. That was with last weeks episode when all the guys were together and the girls were also meeting up. But Emily wasn't there.
Then I remembered that they don't like Emily and neither does she like them. But like this they aren't even trying. Find it kinda weird.
Ofcourse it could be because Laura Spencer plays in a lot of series. Maybe she just doesn't want to commit fully to TBBT. Who knows.

There that was it. Sorry for the bad start and see you tomorrow. Hopefully with better series!
